Day 1: First day in LA

Hello LA! It’s my first trip to the US! Before leaving Korea, I had many concerns, but I could manage everything thanks to my lover. The flight was the longest I've ever experienced. During the journey, I wrote in my diary, organized my research, and watched 3 movies, including The Marvels, Before Sunrise, and Whiplash. Despite getting a long sleep, time seemed to drag on.
 
After arrival, I underwent an investigation during entry screening as my ESTA visa was not suitable for the purpose of my trip. Luckily, I passed the screening but wandered a bit to reach the taxi station. Unlike Korea, the weather was so nice, and I arrived in LA with perfect timing; as I heard from the Uber driver, there were 5 consecutive rainy days. How lucky I am!
 
Anyway, I arrived at my temporary house and took a brief rest after simply unpacking my stuff. Awakening with hunger, and fortunately, my housemate took me out for a meal. So, I picked up a burger and juice from McDonald’s. Surprisingly, the taste of the burger didn’t meet my expectation, but thanks to the housemate’s recommendation, the pineapple juice smoothie was delightful!
 
While eating in my housemate’s car, we headed to Koreatown. There are lots of Korean stores, including CGV, Aladin, Seolbing, and more. I bought some stuff from Daiso and tried boba tea from BOBA. It’s the first time for BOBA as well. Since I needed a socket adapter, my housemate and I went to the nearby Target. Even in Target, we couldn’t find a socket adapter, but I got bananas and toilet paper.
 
Upon returning home, my housemate taught me how to use the DoorDash app, making it easier for me to acquire the necessities. Thanks to him, I successfully navigated through a long and eventful first day in LA.
